This past summer, music producer, Frankie P, began working on his first LIVE instrumental solo project. He locked himself in his home studio and recorded what he considered to be a musical canvas. With no regard to song structure, radio format, formulas, or boundaries, he created what came from the heart; the result was “Hazy Nights In The Heights,” an instrumental ride through the mind of Frankie P. The entire album will be available for free on October 10th @ www.awakeinmydreams.com

Washington Heights’ own Audubon has dropped his latest album, Digging For Sunlight. The project is a super solid effort from a dude that is shaping up to be a real problem. He rhymes, he sings and he has been ripping up stages all over NYC. Shout out to my man Frankie P, who handled the bulk of the production on the album and put down some serious heat to match Audubon’s flavorful flows. What is even better is that it is available for free at http://audubonproject.com/.

There are a bunch of big developments in the works for Audubon so make sure you keep your ears to the streets because you will be hearing a lot about this man in the days to come. I also can’t stress enough the importance of supporting our own because as Audubon says on Digging For Sunlight “to mis-rep the Heights is irresponsible”. Washington Heights Hip-Hop is on the come up – watch out world.

APT.78 Cafe/Lounge

4447 Broadway (191st)

That’s right people, the man responsible for introducing the world to Nas, will be working his magic on the 1’s and 2’s at Apt 78 (4447 Broadway) this coming Wednesday, the 14th. An artist and producer in his own right, Large Pro was a member of the trailblazing, seminal Hip-Hop group Main Source. As quietly as it is kept, Large Pro has been behind the boards of many of your favorite jams from artists such as Rakim, Kool G Rap, Mobb Deep and A Tribe Called Quest among many others. This is going to be another incredible night at the place that has become legendary for them. Be there or be told about it the next day – your choice.
